Dustin Wong's Spring Residency

Dustin Wong is a being of unprecedented compassion and creativity. His nearly two-decade-long career is prolifically marked by an unwavering commitment to challenging himself and his collaborators, and whether recording with Ecstatic Sunshine, Ponytail, Takako Minekawa, or in his solo practice, he has consistently produced some of the most dynamic, vibrant, architectural, and beloved soundscapes of the past twenty years. We've invited Dustin as this season's artist-in-residence as we're just in awe over his constant exploration of new conceptual frameworks and boundless imagination. Throughout the Spring his focus will be collaborations with artists from our local communities who are up for floating's unique approach to site specific soundtracks. Expect morphology through mythology, expression through syncopation, heavenly world building through a virtuosic use of pedals, time signatures that bend the fabric of space, and polyrhythms to cultivate the extra feeling of weightlessness. This is a season for Dustin to advance his technique in front of an audience and to explore the ideas we'll hear on forthcoming albums. Join us this Spring as Dustin forges new paths, improvises with his stunning surroundings, and continues to inspire new generations of musicians and artists. ~~ Floating is a membership-supported outdoor arts series. If you're interested in seeing more gatherings like these, and beyond, we'd love for you to consider supporting our work with a seasonal membership.
